Stanford Announces Major Policy Changes: SAT/ACT Required + All AP Scores Must Be Reported
1. SAT/ACT scores are now mandatory
These exams are no longer optional. All applicants - including international students - must submit official SAT or ACT scores.
2. All AP scores must be reported
Students must disclose every AP exam score, whether taken at school or selfstudied. Even scores you may consider “not perfect” must be included. No omissions. No selective reporting.
3. Competition will increase
With full transparency required, Stanford will have a clearer picture of each student’s academic strength. This means students who have genuinely prepared will stand out even more.
🌏 Does this apply to students in Taiwan?
Yes. Absolutely. Taiwanese students - along with applicants from Asia and all international regions - must submit SAT/ACT scores and all AP results under the new policy.
💡 This isn’t pressure; it’s opportunity.
What students gain through preparation is far more than a score. They build:
- Maturity in handling pressure
- Strong selfmanagement skills
- A solid academic foundation that holds up in global competition
A prestigious university may open the door, but true capability determines how far a student can go.
